We offer a creative, skill-building summer for kids who love to make.

Butcher’s Sew Shop Junior offers thoughtfully designed sewing camps for children ages 6–15 in Philadelphia. Each week blends hands-on learning, creativity, and structure in a calm, small-group studio environment led by experienced instructors.

Camps are beginner-friendly while still engaging for returning students, with age-appropriate instruction and projects kids are proud to take home.

Camp Details

• Monday–Friday | 9:00am–3:00pm
  (except the week of July 4th)

• Location: 800 S. 8th Street

• Multiple age groups may run at the same time, with dedicated instructors and projects tailored to each age group

 

What Campers Learn

No prior sewing experience is required. Campers will:

• Learn to safely and confidently use a sewing machine

• Cut, pin, mark, and assemble fabric

• Complete multiple projects from start to finish each week

All materials are included, except for the 11–15 year old camp, which requires a $40 materials fee (bring on the first day or pre-pay at registration).

Campers should bring a nut-free snack, packed lunch, and a 32 oz water bottle. Weather and city guidelines permitting, lunch is enjoyed outdoors at a nearby park with instructor supervision.

Extended Care

Extended care is available for most camps:

• Morning: 8:00–9:00am — $10/day

• Afternoon: 3:00–5:00pm — $20/day

​

Extended care is not available for the 11–15 year old camp.

​

Waitlists

If a camp week is full, we encourage families to join the waitlist. Waitlisted families are contacted as soon as a spot becomes available and will not be charged until availability is confirmed and registration is completed.

Registration & Payment

• 50% deposit or pay in full at registration

• Remaining balance (if applicable) is automatically billed on March 31

• ​

Discounts

• 10% sibling discount (first child at full price)

• 10% multi-session discount (first week at full price)
