Whalemina Stuffie - PDF Pattern

Whalemina Stuffie - PDF Pattern

Meet Whalemina! She swam across the seven seas to find you and start her life of adventure as your best mate. All you have to do now is put her together!

This sewing pattern is for a whale stuffie with a boxy body, fins made out of fabric OR felt, button eyes and an embroidery floss water spout. Two versions of the pattern are included to accommodate different age groups and experience levels. This project is considered an "advanced beginner" skill level, appropriate for those with basic sewing skills. Help from an adult is encouraged for some steps.

Finished dimensions: 18" wide x 18" long x 4" tall (including fins)

Skills involved: cutting fabric, sewing at an accurate seam allowance, boxing corners, clipping curves, hand sewing. Many of these techniques are demonstrated in video tutorials on our Sewcabulary page.

VERSION A is great for younger or newer sewists. The fins and tails are cut from felt and do not need to be sewn after cutting.

VERSION B is a slightly more advanced version. The fins and tails are cut from fabric and sewn and flipped before attaching them to the body.
